Would not get too worried about this..... went for a short trip to UK in March.... provided Hertz a UK passport, UAE residence address and Canadian drivers license..... no problem.

Hi Millhouse..... how is Dubai treating you?

Indeed for the Beardy..... been on a veggie diet since we arrived and time for a change. Loves the heat but even she has to seek shelter mid-day.

Anybody have any idea on where I may be able to buy live crickets?Preferably in Abu Dhabi but Dubai, or elsewhere in the UAE, may work..... food for lizard.:fingerscrossed:

Opened with HSBC AD in Sept and no complaints so far. Received all cards within a week and online banking/global transfers working a treat. Still early days but.... touch wood.... off to a good start.

We just brought a dog across from Canada and used BVC http://www.britvet.ae/pettravel.htm. They were extrremely helpfull and efficient.

You need some form of ID to purchase the SIM card but a passport will do if you want 'pay as you go'. If you want a contract then you need UAE ID Card.
