15 years in NZ and the occasional homesickness pangs stopped a few years ago.
My kids are grown and in Europe and I miss them, but I have no pull to the UK anymore.
The only way I'm going back now...

It's been going on for some time.
I sent a couple of birthday cards in April that took just under 4 weeks to reach Paris.
I think the old steam ships used to do the journey in 6 weeks.

NZ has vet little indigenous wildlife.
It only had birds and lizards, everything else has been introduced.

In rural areas kids on farms have pet lambs that they'll kill when they get old enough....

That's pretty disgusting, but sadly a fairly good reflection of the attitude of rural NZ.

I have 2 cats, both were feral and were caught by me. They are now no different to any other house cat.

I'd drive to chch and get a cheapo flight to Auckland the day before. Cheap return and a night in the airport hotel will only be a couple of hundy each, a lot less than booking from nelson as part of...
