Fire and Tempests - NZ
#1
Ha! So along with quakes ( and yes Col , we've felt many now even if you have not) ; bush fires from droughts ; water shortages and boil notices -Landslips ; missing roading ; floods and slash , we now have the latest of tempests to have us sleep well in our beds at night. The multi , once in `100 years, only in NZ , tornadoes.
Monday was rather nasty here and a bit alarming. We didn't sustain damage but the area did and MrBEVS is out with Civil Defence again as I type.. Hen coop tried to go on the run but hens legged it under the house. Sensible girls that they are.
We were actually due to plant 10 trees as screening against the encroachment from next door's elevated, over looming, houses bang smack by our boundary. Actually got them in later in the day and staked for their lives thanks to a couple of pals up the way and a good bloke that does this stuff.
So that'll stuff up the price of toms , pip fruit and lamb I suppose , what with pestilence , hailstorms and now torn paddocks.
Happy Tuesday. . The sun is out. 🌞

I quite like frogs. The sound is relaxing. Not that I have ever seen or heard one here in NZ. They hides their eyes and let out a squeal when a cat befriends them enough to want to bring one into the house. Had that reguarly in the UK. My old Hol was always bringing in the frog that lived under the garden shed.
We had 8 fantails in the garage this morning. Not sure that counts as a plague .

It's just never bloody ending, with one thing after another; as if another tornado was not enough, we also had a plague of ants marching through our pantry at the weekend.

Some of our ant hordes seem to prefer the loo roll for some reason. It doesn't matter either if it is upstairs or down.
