OK. I have a better picture now.
How about The Riverside Community. A twin bedded room which appears to be available up and over but you would probs need to be quick. Would be a bit different . You might get a bit of a group guitar session. You would need to confirm the policy but the community is for tranquil living.
Another thought is to find a house sit for a couple of weeks. Many families go camping over the 'festive' weeks so quite often they are looking to let their homes to net a bit of $$ back.
edit.... The Riverside Community is an all age community. It isn't youngsters or oldies. As a place to rest the head with some facilities it could feel doable.

Looked at that but a grumpy old git like myself doesn't really fit comfortably with shared facilities.
We have done it a couple of times on previous trips but much prefer to be self contained.
However I really appreciate the suggestions.
Keep them coming, please.
Will register on the house sit site suggested by Bo-Jangles.

We have a motor home so we are used to shared ablutions, but we get to live in our own space.
The TOP 10 and similar usually have cooking facilities in the room, plus a fridge (shared fridge? {shudder})
When we were tent camping we still had our own cooking area in the tent, and a cool box.

Not the ablutions so much as the shared cooking area and sitting area.

Have you solved this yet ?

Not yet.
Decided that now we are looking at possibly getting accepted for immigration that we should abandon any idea of going to e.g. Australia and focus on where to be when to remind ourselves of NZ and see what has changed since 2015.
If we can't get somewhere quiet we'll just have to suck it up.
The main focus at the moment is to get all the organisation done before we leave in late November.
Once we have all the issues over leaving the house and vehicles for a couple of months over winter, and have insurance, clothes etc. sorted, we will get back to looking at accommodation.

Funny you should say that. I'm away in my travels again and am1500km into a big south island roadie. We're about half way round. We've seen some fabulous places but I'm not sure any would fit the bill. We're currently in Karamea which is a lovely tiny little place at the very top of the west coast. Lovely scenery, wind swept beaches 2 minutes away, great walking or cycling country. There's only two or three hotel/motels. Couple of cafes, two restaurants and most importantly a pub. Definitely no rowdies here
Certainly well off the beaten track.
Are you camping, and are you doing the walk?

Col.
How is it for sandflies please. Unfortunately I have a bit of an issue with their bites.

Tbh I think all beaches down the west coast will have sf issues. I didn't notice any while in the township. Not sure how dependant on season that is
Check it out on Google maps, it's a tiny scattered community
