Re: Advise a non-mechanic - what to look for when buying a used car?

Thanks for the advice y'all.

I've ruled out the old banger Chery. The air con doesn't work. I can buy it as is for $1500, but the tyres will need replacing soon too. I've seen a Fiesta that is...

Re: Advise a non-mechanic - what to look for when buying a used car?

That's a great checklist, thanks :)

The Chery in question has 134,000km. The Skoda has 200,000km, but is a diesel, so do I understand correctly that this is fine for a diesel?

Advise a non-mechanic - what to look for when buying a used car?

As I'm applying for more jobs now, I'm finding myself in that damn cycle - can't get a job without a car, can't get a car without a job... so I'm looking at some el-cheapo bangers just to get me...

Re: How are you spending NYE?

Is it a little sad to hope that I don't get any invites to go anywhere? I'm looking forward to lounging around in my kecks, feeling very proud of myself for getting my physical and mental health in a...

Re: UK TV

After having some success with SmartDNS, it is now failing again. I have found their support to be a bit lacking too.

I emailed asking a simple pricing question. I got contradictory answers from...

I just tried SmartDNS and ... I've live streaming Match Of The Day, watched yesterday's Football Focus, and I'm sure I'll have no problem with other content either :)

I had failure first, but I'm...

I'm doing really well, thanks for asking. ...

Thanks for revitalising this thread too!

I went back and read my original post. "Now I have to cook for myself". That sounds a bit pathetic. I always cooked for my family. I should have written...

Re: UK TV

ExpressVPN looks quite expensive - $100/year? (US$)?

SmartDNSproxy (which gives just smart dns or smartdns + vpn) is much more reasonable at US$39.9/year or US$49.90 for 2y.

Now I have made a set for my boys and they...
