Re: NZ to Scotland in the post covid/brexit world

Oh yes! I can't wait to come back permanently. Do you mind me asking where you are approximately in the east Midlands? We used to live in Burton on Trent, which I loved but we don't want to go...

Re: Good Uber eats Christchurch

Nope, Auckland hotels are full with recent returnees and people who have covid. They've run out of room for covid folk, so some can self-isolate at home now! Hence we were flown to Christchurch...

Re: Coronavirus

I'm very sorry to hear about your husband, that's very difficult for you.
But that doesn't mean that the majority should have to give up their liberty for a minority however deserving their cause. I...

Re: Coronavirus

I'm on a FB page called "Grounded Kiwis " and the stories on there are soul destroying. People who are trying to get emergency allocations in MIQ because they have a terminally ill relative somewhere...

Re: Coronavirus

So I'm due to return to fly 'home' from Heathrow tomorrow evening, after a month in the north-west of England. I was sort of hoping for a positive Covid PCR test so that I could delay my return,...

Re: Covid testing prior to travelling to the UK and experiences of MIQ

Many thanks BEVS and Pollyana. Just about to start packing. As expected, my PCR test was negative but it's a relief to have it confirmed.

Re: Covid testing prior to travelling to the UK and experiences of MIQ

Many thanks Polly.
I can't remember who I've booked my day 2 test with but it's all in hand. Things have become a bit of a blur over the last couple of weeks.
Had Denise from Singapore Airlines...

Re: Covid testing prior to travelling to the UK and experiences of MIQ

Thanks so much for this information. I'm very sorry to hear about your mum. It's hard isn't it. My mum died last year during the first lockdown.
Sorry I haven't replied to this sooner....

Re: Coronavirus

Sorry to hear that.
I'm hating being here feeling trapped. Having a lonely, sad, inertia kind of day. Hoping nothing happens to stop my trip to the UK on the 18th. If it wasn't for my OH I wouldn't...

Re: Tendency amongst young American women to employ Vocal Fry

Re: Coronavirus

Just to clarify, I haven't heard any rumours about 100% vaccination rate being required for anything to happen!! That would be an impossibility in any population.

Re: G'won . The $ price of one tomato and maybe -ssshhh ..the price of a cucumbe

I do that with Rexona/Sure too! I refuse to pay over $5 for deodorant. I did notice today that the Rexona was on special at $4.99 for 220mls whereas I ordered a 250ml one for $3 from Boots. Crazy.

Re: Coronavirus

I do know that the army has been contracted until at least the end of 2022 to assist with the running of MIQ facilities.

Given how small NZ is, then it's not surprising that the tourism sector...
