Re: What are you experiences of Rental Agents?

I totally agree - if you're not up to the job then it's time to leave it, and lying etc is totally unacceptable. I just think it's a shame that many PM's start out very good at their job, really care...

Re: What are you experiences of Rental Agents?

There are some very nice people who use this Forum who are Property Managers. Not only are they very good at their jobs they are also neither rude, thick or incompetent. Worth bearing in mind.

I...

Re: Kindy / Childcare Fees in Brisbane

Ouch!! Cheaper than here in Melbourne but still a big expense.

Is there an age where it becomes cheaper? Or does that not happen until they start primary school?

Re: This question is for Kiwi's`Only

Could you be any more patronising??? I am perfectly aware what lignite is. As I have been away from NZ for a long time I was genuinely interested in what you were alluding to in terms of...

Re: This question is for Kiwi's`Only

That's interesting to know. In school we were taught that the Maoris had big burn offs in the SI when they arrived and then the settlers cleared heaps for farming when they arrived but that's going...

Re: is there any homes in melbourne for $450

$450pw rent? Absolutely. Cheaper to rent than buy here, and as a tenant you don't need to pay rates either. It really depends whether you want a nice area but a more modest house, or whether you...

Re: Melbourne - what's good and what's bad?

No, not a dump. Not fancy for sure- but perfectly do-able. You can get great 2 bed flats in Bay St, Nott St etc for $450pw so if you're paying more than $500 you're a mug.

Re: Melbourne - what's good and what's bad?

You're talking out of your arse. Why don't you quote the whole sentence instead of just part of it. I clearly went on to say that you can find 3 bed/1 bath in the price range but the properties might...

Re: Melbourne - what's good and what's bad?

Check out Brighton East and St Kilda East. Some perfectly ok 3bed/1 bath houses/townhouses to be had in the $500 - $550pw range but garage would be unlikely. Both handy for the beach, shops,...

Re: furniture help!!!????

Is this a trick question?? Go to the furniture shop. Buy your stuff. Pay to have it delivered.

Or, hire a van for the day, buy your stuff and then take the van back.

Re: NZ versus Aus

Where did the word 'major' come into it? We're talking rural towns. You can't compare somewhere like Pirongia with Geelong or even Bendigo. Perhaps if you'd been to Pirongia you'd understand better....

Re: NZ versus Aus

You can't seriously say that Pirongia is the same as Auckland!! Rural towns in Oz are no different to rural towns in NZ - apart from the fact there's more flies and drought. Sydney vs Melbourne is...

Re: NZ versus Aus

Noooooo! Wellington too hilly, windy and cold!

Auckland was my home town and if were to ever move back to NZ it would be to there. But then, I will never move back so what do I care!

Re: NZ versus Aus

I don't get it. Why would someone move from the UK to some crappy rural part of NZ and then moan about how shite NZ is?

Isn't that like someone from say Sydney or Melbourne moving to some shite...

Re: From NZ to OZ ?

Er, no I'm not having a laugh. If the OP is living in Pirongia then she must have been attracted there for some reason instead of heading to a city. If she's considering a move to Oz and wants to...

Re: From NZ to OZ ?

To be honest if you're currently in Pirongia then any city is going to be more exciting no matter what country it's in just by virtue of the fact that it's not a small town. Small towns in Oz are...

Re: Reduced rent while property is on the market?

We recommend to our vendors/landlords to give the tenants 1 weeks free rent to compensate for the intrusion. Hope that helps :)

Re: Selling house - Auction, good idea or not?

Because if there isn't an Authority of Sale the Agent is not entitled to claim commission. It's a legally binding Agreement and will exist in all transactions in VIC, whether it private sale, auction...
