Re: Woman, 96, to be deported to UK

I don't understand. The title of your post is 'Woman, 96, to be deported to UK' but the newspaper article title is 'Govt denies plans to deport woman aged 96'.

What's your point?

Re: Home Contents Insurance

OK, so make sure any claims with them are big ones and then you won't have any problems. A couple of minor carpark knocks and they dump you faster than you can say 'oops!'. Possibly the difference...

Re: Home Contents Insurance

Budget Direct are all very nice (cheap) until you actually have to claim with them. My wife had two fairly small bumps in her car after 20 years of no claims. We decided to get them fixed as it was...

Re: anyone else up yanchep way see that mysterious

Saw it in Mindarie. Looked like a solid wall of cloud rolling in and was moving really quickly. Then it hit us and .... nothing. Just fluffy whispy cloud behind, no wind, no rain, no car denting...

Re: What is the temperature of your pool now?

We were in last week when it got up to 29°c. That's in Perth with the solar heating running. Probably down a bit now as it's been overcast for a couple of days.

Cheers,

Re: can you drink tap water in perth?

I live in the Northen suburbs and have to agree with the above. Sometimes when we run a bath the smell of chlorine is very stong, stronger than our swimming pool. I think I might test the tap water...

Re: What's with the rounding down of money?

Another problem is that the profiling isn't always accurate. A couple of years ago, back in the UK, one week I bought some Kleenex and Vaseline from Tescos. The following week I received my...

Re: wandering washing machine?

Sorry, but this is b***s**t. The modern washing machine has been domesticated over many generations. It is used to being confined, it even thrives on it. How would you feel if your washing machine...

Re: wandering washing machine?

I attached my Bosch GTi Malloo (limited edition) washing machine to the floor of our laundry. I made the mistake of washing my site boots in it. The resulting 'wobble' caused my laundry to detach...

Re: Xbox360/PS3/Wii....

You're wrong about the Wii. The UK Wii and Oz Wii are both PAL machines and the Oz games work fine on the UK Wii. I brought a UK Wii over with me and all the games I bought here work perfectly.

Re: Brita Water Filters - Where sells them?

We've not found the official filter carts for much less that $10 each. We bought some 'compatible' cartridges from either Kmart or Target (can't remember which) and they were terrible. Gave the...

Re: House prices in Australia thread bubble

I was considering investing in the thread at around the 301-303 post mark. However, if I now post to the thread my post will be worth 603!!

It's a risk but I may hold off posting until around the...

Re: Relocation: Phil Down Under

I'm fairly sure this was filmed at the beginning of 2009. We looked at the house in Mindarie but were put off by the bedroom that had been converted to a hair salon. The estate agent told us that a...

Re: 42" LCD TV

Prepare to make the retailers fight for your business. Never take the price tag as the real price you'll pay. The first question you should ask is 'What's the best price you can do this for?'. ...

Re: What's the silliest things that packers packed?

An empty pot of paint and a used paintbrush (still wet when they packed it)that we'd been touching up the paintwork with. They also packed some of their own packing tape and phonebooks like the OP.
