Thanks guys, i hope to get there in time, they can re-shedule the course but this coincides with a busy period for them so they are trying to get me out there sooner, i'll see how things tie in.

Looks like a cali king, it's likely to be a colubrid, and harmless, looks from that family at first glance, there are so many colour morphs. Chill it's home in it's vivarium, she'll be apples ;-)
