Ok, maybe 'activate' is the wrong word, but apparently when you get your visa and you're overseas, you have to enter Australia by a certain date. I was just wondering how much time they give you. ...

Yes, but not when you have the 173 contributory parent visa - temporary. Its done so you can pay the $35K in two parts over two years. You dont get your rights till they get all their money.

They just asked where she was resident at the time she applied for the visa. Because she was living in Canada at the time, she isn't eligible. Being a British citizen doesn't count. I just think...

Its an orbweaver, and its not dangerous. They don't tend to bite, and if they did it would hurt a bit and you might feel ill for a few hours, but it would pass.

Just to let you know, my mum (Jillany) was granted her visa on August 31st! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
She applied in January 08. Needless to say she is floating on cloud nine now...

Just a quick update.... my mum applied for her visa in Jan 08 and I've been keeping track of progress to make sure there were no holdups. First she didn't get her requests for medicals when expected...
