Houses in Canada might be cheaper but the minimum wage is also lower and many people earn this so trying to get a mortgage is hard - imagine getting $11 an hour 35 hour week = $20,200 per year * 3.5...

I can call 911 on my cell phone so that would not be a problem.

We are paying nearly $40 a month for a landline when we use it for 2 calls a month if we are lucky - the important thing is for them...

No harm checking - we sent off packages to the tax office requiring signatures and they go there in 2 - 3 days.
