You shouldn't forget the Terminal Bonus you (may !!) receive on top of the maturity value.

I think the white paper on pensions which came out recently will drastically reduce the No. of NI contribution years you need to qualify for a full state pension (provided it goes thru parliament)....

Get yourself a Natiowide debit card. Withdrawals from ATMs in Oz carry no commission charge, and the conversion rate is comparable (if not better) than what anybody else has to offer.

These interest rates make a mockery of the interest applied to AoS Bonds for 138 visa holders. The Commonwealth (the only bank that deals with AoS Bonds...) apply an interest rate of approx 2%.
