Dont need to be there in May, they will still hold your application until you arrive, they just do a specific recruitment drivetwice a year May and November. SW is just as stressful, same problems...

Another recommendation is to spread your wings, dont just stick to department. Social workers are found in a much wider field of work than in the UK.
