Defined by USCIS is kind of a double entendre. As I mentioned, the flights are non-refundable, the ESTA was approved and she is/was a frequent flyer and the flights were cheap so, we'll see....

If that's the case it hasn't been well written, this is the proclamation as it stands right now: The travel restriction does not apply to:

U.S. citizens.
Legal permanent residents (LPRs).

My mum is flying out to visit next Friday, everything we have read says immediate family (i.e. the parent of a US Citizen) is able to visit. She has her proof of vaccination, and Covid tests booked...

Congrats! My estimated wait time was 13 months, but from filing to oath ceremony/cert of naturalization in hand only took 5 months, so fingers crossed for you!

Yes they are. When I lived in Montana briefly, a number of the guys I worked with would drive a few hours north and purchase their trucks in Calgary, and then would bring them back over to Montana....

One way ticket is absolutely fine, you may find a return flight is cheaper though, that's how I entered the US and I just cancelled my returning flight.

Pleasantly surprised after my second Moderna shot last week that all I got was a sore arm for a few days, was certainly expecting to get a bit ill!

I paid for expedited service though, and was told 4-6 weeks also.

As Lizzyq mentioned above, I renewed mine last year and they send the old one back (just to be on the safe side I photocopied my old passport including my US visa).

As Rene said, bring originals for everything you possibly can. Even if they're a PITA to obtain, it would be annoying to delay obtaining your visa due to not having an original of something.
