Re: I'm done with the cold and need to move!

Sorry, we're full. Also, you might want to test out the very hot and often very humid Texas summer weather before making a final decision.

Re: New Year in the Keys

I well remember getting a decent rate at the now-torn-down Atlantic Shores Resort and arriving to find out that (a) it was the gayest hotel in the US, and (b) I was just in time for the Closing...

Re: Moving to Houston - the preparation phase!

The challenge you will face is finding any insurer who is prepared to insure you with an out-of-country license. Ten years ago, faced with this situation, I used Progressive Insurance. The rates were...

Re: Moving to Houston - the preparation phase!

You can drive legally in Texas for one year on a UK license, however expect to pay higher insurance rates. The sooner you pass the test in Texas, which is extremely easy, the better. No chance on the...

Re: Do you know ( name here ) in London?

"You're Scottish? Hey, I'm Scotch too!" [spoken in pure Texonian] used to make me bleed from the ears, but I'm used to it now.

The other day a co-worker asked me if I happened to know the name of...

Re: Dallas - Your Top 5 Pro's and Cons

I lived in Dallas - well, Plano - for a year. I can't say I particularly enjoyed my time there, but I wasn't unhappy either. Lots and lots of concrete, cheaply built mansions and condos, but some...
