Ours is very often over 5000 pesos, and we have 2 air-cons in the bedrooms only. There are five of us in the house and we don't have an electric cooker. That is more than we ever paid in the UK.

You can't 'lose' your UK citizenship.

If push really comes to shove, you could ask the UK embassy to repatriate you, tell them you have strayed from the path due to bad advice, and can they help...

I looked for a job in Singapore when i ran out of funds backpacking. Didn't take long, spent two years working in a sailing marina, though I had no experience whatsoever with yachts.
