Default Shit the bed!!! (Tornado)

Sat here in my lounge with Mrs tonrob and the Sproutlet - turned on the TV to see that a bloody tornado touched down one mile from where we were sat about an hour ago, causing damage.

http://www.wwlp.com/dpp/news/local/h...downtown-Spfld

We can hear sirens and the sky is dark and broody with lightning flashes.

Crapping it a little bit to be honest...

Never hear of one here before. It was a quarter of a mile wide - just watched video footage of it sucking water out of the CT river before moving over a bridge packed with queueing cars. Scary as hell...

The weather/natural disasters seem to be all over the place the last couple of years. Scary stuff indeed.

Just saw this! Hope everyone is ok up there! I don't remember the last time a tornado was that far north!

The sprout is the only one I know in the area, though there's a few others in western MA...tbh, a tornado can only really improve Springfield though

There's been a few, but most happen out in the middle of no where and the fields of western mass...orange county kind of no where

Yup, Mass has been known to have some deadly ones. Remember the one a few years back that touched down outside of Great Barrington and then it skipped westward and sheared off the trees along the Taconic Parkway.

They have them in Canada, BGL. Have had a few here in the Bronx as well. We are under a tornado watch at the moment ourselves.

Reddman is just up the road but just heard from Mrs Reddman that they're ok even though the forecast is looking a bit shitty up near Northampton.

We're under tornado watch for another 3 hours - the sky is a weird dull yellowy-grey colour with flashes of lightning - very spooky indeed.

For those who know Springfield the tornado passed just yards from the Basketball Hall of Fame, caused a gas leak at our favourite pizzeria (Red Rose, named in the Top 10 in the US according to some hack in a Southwest Airlines magazine I read a couple of years ago) before skimming Forest Park where Mrs tonrob and the Sproutlet have a season pass for the zoo. I bet half the poor animals shat themselves.

One confirmed fatality so far.

Unconfirmed reports of further funnel clouds touching down to the north.

The governor has declared a state of emergency.
