I ALWAYS tell folks who want help with importing their car to Spain NOT to do it - to sell and buy another one with the steering wheel on the 'right' side. As you say - it is rarely worth the bother...

Watch out for your MOT. Don't forget that if it expires while you are driving on your UK insurance as a visitor, the insurance is no longer valid. The moment you get your Spanish plates when the car...

Fred, the exemption under Goods and Chattels apparently no longer applies in the Canary Islands since (I believe) 2005.This info came from the Customs Agent I use

The ITV is only part of the importation process. First you have to import your vehicles, paying the import tax, which is based on the official value of the vehicle...
