Hi! We applied for a supervisa for my parents whilst they were waiting for a sponsored application to come through - which finally did about a month ago... Woot!

i know a few biomed. engineers, none of whom break puppy bones for a living, so i wouldn't say this is a terrible option, particularly if it's an area you find interesting. agree with everything else!

agreed - i'd leave at least an hour for travel time to be safe. an airport run from not far from there at a similar time recently took me 80 minutes, though i think it normally takes around 50 mins.

ditto... i work very near there (in a similar field), and live out near dundas (west of hamilton)... the commute is actually not that unpleasant (anywhere between 60 and 90 minutes door to door...
