I would hope that Fiat back-up in Canada would be okay as Fiat own 35% of Chrysler

Not quite sure how they lost that bit in the first place, but any wheel and tire place probably has them in stock...

Nope. I stood at various counters explaining the required part, I even lowered myself to going to Canadian Tyre:

"Ah yes, that's the adapter for locking nuts" they said

"Do you keep them?"

"No".

At the VW dealer

"You're not even the first person wanting one today, they always break"

"Do you keep them?"

"No. You should have replaced the locking nuts with plain bolts when you got the car"

I bit my tongue. How many times has the car been to the dealer without them suggesting that?

But he's one of those educated professor types, he's bound to be loaded. Which makes it even stranger that he wouldn't buy a proper car.

In my two-ish years in Toronto I've never laid eyes on a Fiat. Then again, maybe my retinas are damaged from looking at the multitude of minivans being driven by lunatics.

They have only very recently introduced them, in fact they may still be at the "taking deposits only" stage.

I don't think they have arrived yet so your eyes are probably still OK

I'm still going with the blackmail threat, that way he can supplement his lavish high rolling lifestyle.

I have a golf...it's quite nice having the smaller european style car with a zippy engine.

1.2l was the biggest I ever had before, I'm loving my 2.5l now.

The Yaris seems to be very popular here in Calgary.

Sorry, I have just realised I am being mocked on two threads which makes it hard to keep up!

They have just taken pre-orders for the first 500 limited edition cars. Seems they will arrive in April. I was lucky (yes, go on....) to get one of these.

Unlike dbd I don't spend my days traversing Ontario (I do about 5,000kms or less a year) so am hoping this will make servicing and maintenance less of an issue. However, time will tell. I've had enough dodgy Alfas to be prepared. There was a time when my checked bags to/from the UK basically only contained used car parts....

Sadly, not all academics are created equal. I'm a fairly crap and hence fairly poor one. It would of course help if I didn't keep moving countries... I think the C30 is great, but that is well out of my price range.

I2C - when it arrives I will take you and the dog out in it - it does have a sunroof and (I should point) out extremely good interior space...
