Question What paperwork is needed to visit the USA?

What paperwork is needed (if any) for a visit to the USA for a holiday, either by car or plane? I am from the UK with a Canadian PR?

My wife works for Shaw, so this is probably biased, but with Telus you have to have a digital receiver (or PVR) to get a signal, so if your free PVR packs up within the timescale of your contract,...

I brought my Dell laptop and external hard drive with me, all I needed to do was get a new power cord to connect to the PSU. Had a bit of a hunt to find the cords, but finally got them pretty cheap...

I had 20 boxes (cds, dvds books, clothes and various bits and pieces) delivered and it cost £800 from Wales to Vancouver.

It would depend if the shipping company are shipping more than one person's stuff in the container. If it is a full container of just your stuff it would get across quite quick. My stuff was only 20...

You have to show the list when you land, it is then stamped so nothing can be added to it later, then when you get your goods delivered to the port etc, you take the list to CBSA for them to clear it.

There is no time limit on when things are brought in as long as a list is given when you land.
You could in theory, bring things in bit by bit over a period of time, with the the Border services...

Were the retests full medicals or just new blood test/urine test?
If it was the latter, then it will be August, if it was a full new medical then it would be Dec.
I had mine done in June last year...

X amount of CDs $value
X amount of DVD $value
X amount of books $value
Clothes $value

Your PR card will run out but your PR will still be valid as long as you don't travel. As soon as you have resided in Canada for two years (thus making the requirements) you can just renew your PR...

Hi, regarding photos you don't need to bring any, they use the photos your sent with your passport request to make the PR cards.

I would think a printout of the bank statement would be sufficient.

I am not sure, but surely if you are from the UK you don't need to use anything but your passport as the UK is a Visa exempt country?

I think it depends on the office whether they return things or not, we never had anything back from London, but we sent copies of photos and photocopies of other documents, so we weren't that worried...

Yes, putting over what you intend to bring is always better than putting too little. They don't care if you don't bring something in that you listed, but if you try to bring something in that isn't...
