Port Pirie is a good 3 hours from Adelaide. I've driven through the area and wasn't impressed. From Adelaide, go east to the hills or south to the Fleurieu for better options than Port Pirie.

Same down here at Goolwa/Hindmarsh Island. If you want a plumber or electrician down here at the moment they'll book you in for 3 months from now and then not show up.
