I also went through this, i had worked for companies that went bust, i got round it by getting people i worked with at the companies that went bust to write a letter saying that they worked with me...

to be honest, its not worth buying a fancy meter, as i'm pretty sure all test equipment has to be to AS/NZ standards. I'm a Electrical fitter and been out here nearly two years, and any installtions...

I have My visa (spouse), but i believe that before i can start working in my trade ( electrician) that i need my UK Quals, assessed, take a couple of tests and grant me with whatever...

I was wondering, if you can start the TRA process while i am still in the UK, we are flying out to Adelaide in JAN 2004, and i don't really have to wait months in Aus if i can start it here.

I think the theory part is very similar.....the questions are the same but may have to do more or less, but i am pretty sure that in VIC you don't have to do a practical test unlike in SA....but...
