so my observation would be for a family, you probably need two incomes... 70K (4K/month net) & 30K (2K/net) to leave comfortably, definitely not living the dream but comfortable.

50k almost feels like a minimum (~3100/month) albeit i have no experience - looking on rightmove etc, run of the mill 2-3 bedroom semi detached homes outside of london seem to vary between...

if timing is of the essence dont discount paying your way PER > SIN/BKK/NRT/PVG (eg: *A hubs) and then searching those hubs into the UK.

probably won't be the most cost effective though.

in fairness irc is a well known unmoderated medium, it is regarded by some as the underground for illegal and pirated software, child pornography, pedophiles that groom children plus mass trolling...

I can recommend Corporate Keys.... they provide furnished rentals of high quality with all utilities etc included - this was perfect for the first 4 weeks.... (albeit a tad expensive)
