I didn't use anybody. I filled in the transfer forms myself and sent them in. Simple. saved myself the fees/commission. Maybe you should consider doing that too.

However, the majority of Australian employers and agencies will only really consider applications once you are actually residing in Australia.

I'd imagine while processing a mortgage application a lender would want to see evidence of your income stream that will fund your repayments , so I suspect a job offer will not suffice.

I agree. $500pd does seem low. I'm Melbourne based in project management for a financial institution. Sydney usually pays better than Melbourne, and $500pd would be low for Melbourne too.
