Re: ANYHELP WOULD BE GRATELY RECIEVED :(

Hi Alex. If you did want to go to Australia permanently without trying it first (which sounds like the more sensible option), here's my understanding of what you'd need to do:

1. You need to have...

Re: NOVEMBER 2009 APPLICANTS

I've been hesitant at applying for the last few weeks, given the September priority changes. I was hoping to hold out for further clarification before submitting my application and paying the fee.

475 Working Conditions?

Does anyone know... if granted a 475 (state sponsored), is there any condition that says you have to work in your nominated occupation? If not, is it necessary to work doing something on the skills...

Re: ACT sponsorship

I got an acceptance email yesterday! So happy :)

Mine was a 'normal priority' application, and receipt and payment was acknowledged on 7th April, so they took over their target time, but not too...

Re: ACT sponsorship

My application was received towards the end of March, but they managed to 'lose' the confirmation I sent that the payment had been made. They got this at the start of April, but so far - nothing. My...

Re: ACT sponsorship

It's 24 working days today since they acknowledged my complete application. The 30 working day target expires next Thursday. So far I've not heard a peak from them. Are they generally meeting their...

Sibling Visa (Post Wait)

So my brother, shortly to become a US citizen, is considering sponsoring me to live in the USA. I know the extraordinary wait times for a visa number to be allotted for non-immediate relatives, but...

Re: Should I convert from 175 to 176?

My understanding is that DIAC can only revoke your visa if you have violated a binding term of the visa. As things stand, the obligation to remain in your sponsoring state for two years is not a...

Re: Should I convert from 175 to 176?

I'll look at immi to try and find a source, but that's my understanding of the way DIAC operate in terms of deciding what visa to grant. Perhaps one or two of the MARA registered types could clarify...

Re: Should I convert from 175 to 176?

To my understanding, DIAC look to grant a 175 visa first, and if you have 120 points or more, that's what you'll get, state nominated or not. I see the logic in choosing a 176 because of processing...

Re: Royal Mail International Signed For - HELP!!

It's extremely unusual for it to take that long, though. Usually RM Intl Signed For is out of the country within a week and at it's destination within ten days. That's my experience, and I send...

Re: Royal Mail International Signed For - HELP!!

Was just about to post this. It's not accurate that you can't get a definitive answer from Royal Mail International Signed For - you just won't get it from Royal Mail! Australia Post can track it...

Re: 175 CSL processing time

I don't think anyone will be able to give you a clear answer on that. The impact of DIAC's new priority structure implemented this month has yet to be felt. Certainly all attention seems to be on 176...

She won't have had enough evidence to be assessed under either pathway, because the applicant doesn't decide that; TRA does.

Re: Question about state sponsorship

1. What is the very first thing I should prepare to start my application as a skilled worker? Is it the skills assessment?

Yes. All applications start with a skills or qualifications assessment. ...

Re: Running out of options - 175 Visa

Hi Louise,

Personnel Consultant is a 50 point occupation, and as such - you're quite right - VETASSESS will want to see degree level qualifications before passing your assessment.

IT Engineer...

Re: Calculation of Points

Your points look fine to me. It doesn't matter about IELTS - 10 extra points for 'proficiency' wouldn't have gotten you a better visa than you can get now!
