Anyone remember Six Five Special and Juke Box Jury.
Thick navy blue knickers with a pocket for your hankie.
School milk in little bottles, sour in summer and frozen in winter. Taking a penny to school for the starving babies in Africa. Writing on a slate at my first school. Pens with a nib and wooden shaft. Ink wells, blotting paper..

Yes - they left red corrugated lines round your legs!
Yes - and being thumped on the back 'cos my joined up writing wobbled...

Yes - Even the slate!!
Me thinks we are the same age!

and .. We Must Have Safety On The Kings Highway...

Watching the Coronation on a black and white tv, with all the neighbours crowded into our tiny living room.. Then the street party afterwards.
I still have my coronation mug, that we were given at school...

"I went youth hostelling with my brother 12, and 13, when I was 14!!![*]My dad dropped us off at one hostel in Derbyshire, and we walked to the next one for a night and then the next one for the next night where he picked us up the following morning!!!"
I went youth hostelling on bikes with my friend Natalie when we were just 15. We lived in Purley. The first night we stayed in Kemsing, which is near Sevenoaks. Looking back today - that was a long way! We made it as far as Canterbury and then we set off along the Thanet Way. It was the year of the Suez Crisis and the road was full of army trucks - and it was bucketing down with rain. We stopped at a cafe called the Rose of Tralee and phoned my Dad who came and rescued us and the restaurant people stored our bikes until my Dad went back for them a few days later. Good old Dad!

We used to love the school milk, it always had an inch or so of cream on the top.

Think she runs a nail salon in Walton on the Hill now.
Smash Hits - buying the first issue - then cutting out all the lyrics and glueing them to the outside cover of all my singles.
Bunty Magazine.
Pippa Dolls - 7" version of Sindy and Barbie, etc. Way more cool
Dad's orange Datsun estate on a trip up to Scotland.
Mum's green Hillman Minx
A hideous full length red checked dress that I wore to a village Xmas party which I thought was just super trendy at about 8
My first concert - Chris de Burgh at Fairfield Halls in Croydon.
My first single - the Osmonds - on my red Pifco record-player.
Taping the top 40 on Sunday afternoon - playing the cassette to death all week, then repeating the whole thing the following week, while trying to press the stop button before the DJ cut in and ruined the masterpiece.
Having a crush on Blondie
