Bahaha have either of you actually read what you've quoted?

Maybe I should make myself clearer I am talking about the governments response to aid those in need - which is of course led by their desire to appease the voting public. I am not talking about a rating based on a 1000 people in each countries response to a charitable poll questionnaire.

Yes, the devil is in the detail innit...

Gallup asked people which of the following three charitable acts they had undertaken in the past month:

- helped a stranger, or someone they didn’t know who needed help?
- donated money to a charity?
- volunteered your time to an organisation?

You stated "Prosperity makes people greedy and desperate to hold on to their wealth" Thats not a description that fits people who were willing to help a stranger, or someone they didn’t know who needed help? donated money to a charity? or volunteered your time to an organisation.

A poll of a 1000 people in America? Representative? Sound scientific data? I don't think so. The America that is turning their backs on the refugees as they did to the Jews. You decide..

At a community level the US is a very charitable place. At a political level I don't understand the US at all. Illogical, corrupt, short sighted, reckless, selfish are few words that spring to mind. However what goes on in the US at a political level doesn't mean that "Prosperity makes people greedy and desperate to hold on to their wealth" just imo of course :-)

That's per capita you may have gleaned. Buddhists are nice people who think they should donate an amount every day.

Nut jobs. Probably furrin terrorists in the making. You know how these people think.

I heard on CBC last night that thousands of refugees had been asked if they'd like to come to Canada and only 6% expressed an interest.

The 94% must be BE readers.

I thought the best one I read was a load of migrants were to returned to Pakistan by plane
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/04/wo...rope.html?_r=0
and the nice supportive Pakistani government turned their own people (who had passports issued by Pakistan) away
This is turning out to be an opportunity to dump those not wanted somewhere else

Sun coming up behind the new mosque on my block, they've been renovating for months now. It used to be the Burning Bible Revival Tabernacle. The old church where they shot the first episodes of Little Mosque on the Prairie is actually only a few blocks from here.

With Pakistan (and other countries) making it difficult to deport its nationals. How do you resolve this? Europe won't want Macedonia to open its border.
