Have you watched any news in the UK or noticed what's filling the papers
Taken note of the conversations at Lunch time ?
or even taken notice of who's not made the radar screen of the Christmas charities begging on TV
... its dropped off the Radar here (UK)...............Nobody cares

I must admit I do soil myself looking at the mail sometimes. I can confirm that very popular UK newspaper along with all the readers who post comments are far from ignoring it.
But what of the opinion polls? Miraculously just happened to ask people for whom it hadn't dropped off the radar?

3,000 or so are expected in BC. Thing is though they are going to place them in the most exapensive part of BC with most going to Vancouver, Burnaby and Surrey.
Not an easy place to start a life. The 1300 or so they will get will barely cover rent in these areas.
Why not set them up in a lower cost region? Seems they would have more success in one.

Our Syrian refugees are different to the EU ones. We are getting the ones from the refugee camps and split between privately sponsored i.e. church groups and groups of individuals willing to sponsor and those selected and assisted by the Canadian Govt. The ones assisted by the Canadian Govt are the ones receiving benefits be it in the form of housing or meal allowances.
So if a church group in Vancouver sponsor them they are not likely to send them to Winnipeg are they.
Placing Govt assisted ones is more of a challenge and they will likely end up in cities and towns closer to family members or where there are some Syrians living.
I highly doubt any will be sent to Nunavut or the Yukon if not privately sponsored.

People want blood.
It was Mourinho last week and this week it is Van Gaal.
The Daily Mail has moved on to reality TV relationships as it's landing page headline:
Strictly Come Dancing winner Jay McGuiness says he and Aliona Vilani are just friends | Daily Mail Online
I have to say I am surprised this thread is still running.

I would agree with you that just because you are anti-austerity doesn't mean you are automatically pro or anti anything. That's a general problem we face with regard to emotional issues around immigration/refugees/security. Often people have very complicated views on these areas. They might be anti immigration, pro refuge and anti austerity. As a general point the media also often fails to point out how subtle peoples views are for example someone might be pro immigrant (helping out etc) yet be anti large scale immigration, or they might be in favour of building fences to control the refugee flows but be in favour of generous refugee resettlement programs.

Novocastrian There was no intentional category error that was simply a list of anti establishment populist people organisations.

I don't spot it. In fact, taking Paw's paragraph as whole, he seems to be recognising differing categories ??
