Am I missing something, the article included this statement:
'However, the two-month gap for re-entry may be a hindrance unless the Indian government relaxes the visa norms as they did in the case of UK and US tourists'. where did this information come from? is it wishful thinking? Human excreta soiling Karmale lake: Health officer 8 Dec: Times of India. Ponda health officer Nutan Dev confirmed that "excess human excreta" was contaminating the Karmale lake in the town… However, Dev said that the test report claims it is a "normal condition, as people from most villages in Goa answer nature's call on the bank of lakes"… :ban: |

my guess is they've** heard that 12-month T visas are available in the UK, but weren't told about the 180 day limit on them - or they may have heard about 12-month X's being available (but I would have thought all Indian Missions would have the same info. about those).

I would love to know who these so called contractors are who are apparently being paid over 16 lakh per month to clear garbage from the beaches - if I was Swampy Naik I would be asking for that money back as they are clearly not doing the job they are paid for !!!

And if they did empty the hypothetical bins would the rubbish be properly dealt with or just illegally dumped somewhere else.

We get Indian guests in our resort, most of them are well mannered and do not make a mess but sometimes we get a big family party and for some reason they think it is acceptable behavior in the restaurant and by the pools just to throw their rubbish on the floor/ground and leave a terrible mess. They also tend to be the ones that go in the pools fully dressed after a day out! Mind you we also had some Russians whose manners in the restaurant were dreadful.
