Re: In To-day's Newspapers
On tourism, the PMO has also asked the MHA and the ministry of external affairs to resolve the confusion around restrictions on re-entry of tourists within a 60-day period. The visa rule is likely to be relaxed and a solution reached in the next one month.
Now wouldn`t that be nice.!!!!! Puts me in a real quandary though as I must be out by 20th feb but don`t want to book flights and apartments for 2 months when maybe 2 weeks would suffice!! |

It would be really good if they do away with it but personally I would plan on the basis that it may not be effective immediately but book a flight that you could change without cost and see if you can get an apartment to rent on a weekly but renewable basis but assume you will be two months out. Good luck, hope you will get back after two weeks.
Gonna hang out till last few days and then make a decision! |

Look past the sun & surf — Goa has become Paradise lost
22 Jan: Sunday Guardian. Paradises, by their very construct, are apolitical. All is fine as long as you are happy and living in cuckoo land … I found that in Goa, every government job has a price tag attached to it. All of the boys working at the shop, local Goans, hope to sell a plot of land to a Russian or at the very least, a Delhiite, for an astronomical sum, and then pay part of it to get a “permanent jobâ€. Most would use the rest of the money to demolish their old house and construct a monstrosity that they could then rent out to more rich tourists www.goanvoice.org.uk http://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/viewer.aspx |

Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Some tourists here have managed to inflate the period to a whole month.I met and old guy in Calingut who has bought a case of Honeybee and Gin just in case !From my own understanding there is going to a period of 4 days when the lot will be closed but this is Goa and there are always ways to get a drink. To your earlier question regarding tastes J5...The Russians do prefer Old Monk but as to the Indians drinking beer, but from observations its mostly strong beers.Dont know about the English and Honeybee though. Its a pretty nasty substance all in all.....
