Does anyone really think that Micky will do any time real time. The US said he moved 2 million dollars to India recently. I suspect that much of this will be for bribes. I think a token sentence is in the offing. A few months in a 5 star hotel for him!

I think the start of the story is that his 1st wife, a US citizen if I remember correctly, was not only considerably wealthier than Francisco was then, she was also considerably older. . . . . . . . .

There's a surprise Hem, Mental Miccky married a woman much older than him who was rich ? He didn't marry for money there did he? !!!!!!!

I think the rest of the story probably starts with " Dial M for........" (not Miccky)

Did there not used to be a ferry from Vasco to Mumbai? A few years ago someone told my oh about it so he went to a travel agent to try and book on it but was told it had stopped running so he got the train instead.

There was a ferry service many years back but that was suspended in 1986 when the boat was sold to the Indian Navy when Sri Lanka was having trouble.
A catamaran service was introduced in 1994 but I believe that only ran for 2-3 years.

Husband tells me for the old ferry, in Bombay, you went out on a motor launch and had to climb up a ladder on the side the ferry! Not for him now he says (if its the same).

I'll believe it when I see it! -
Last year a couple of international cruise ships put in at Vasco but the companies changed to Kerala because i) there were no proper facilities ii) excessive charges iii) MPT jetty was 1/2 inch deep in coaldust!

Three years to build basic (in Goa it is bound to be basic) marinas?

Are they digging them with tea spoons?

If there are any marinas finished in FIVE years The Dog Rescue gets a tenner!

Don't know why they bother having a draw for the shacks those that loose open anyway. Just hope they are open for when the first holiday makers arrive.

Think you will find that those who lose, buy licences off those who won but never had any intention of opening a shack.
The sums of money involved are large and dramatically drive up shack prices.
The practice is not largely discussed as it is totally illegal and is supported by those in authority who should be stamping on it as they receive plenty of back-handers.
A few years ago, it was decided that all successful applicants would be issued with printed licence with their photo on, to be diplayed prominently at the shack. Needless to say it died out very quickly as it flew in the face of Goa's endemic bribery and corruption culture. Sad as it would have eliminated this ongoing farce in a single stroke.
