[ One think is for sure the shacks will not be open.

Feel really sorry for these Dutch tourists due to arrive in less than a week!. The Calangute/Candolim road still looks like a ghost town and no sign of any Kasmiris or Tibetans or any other shops opening! Not much sign of the seasonal restaurants opening either! They are going to wonder what the hell the have wasted their money on!

That's being charitable - IMHO the original post was "down right racist".

Fool that I am, I'm getting drawn in when I'd resisted commenting all day!

That's what we thought last year, then the breakaway shack association caused so much trouble that it went to the High Court and things dragged on so long that it wasn't till early December when most of the shacks were up and running - so no income to the majority of the shacks for at least 6 weeks.

I've being watching the weather reports from here in Turkey and Goa still always seems to be covered in rain clouds - is this the case, anyone who is currently there?

Cheers
Iain

Ah yes, but this year there doesn't seem to be the same sort of "fratching" between the SOWS & TGTSOA - don't they love their abbreviations!

Anyway, not long now so lets see what transpires. . . . . . . . . .

If it's "racism" you want to see you should spend more time in Goa/India.

Bipat - its pathetic that these comments are even allowed on this forum. This is precisely the sort of thing that I was referring to when I said that there were several posts with racial undertones on this forum. But unfortunately the majority don't agree and that thread was closed. Its sick but it seems to be encouraged. As Hemingway rightly says - it perhaps doesn't even deserve a response.

Hi Bipat/mzee

Yes I do think that post deserves no comment - any response just gives it credibility - which it does not warrant. Rising to the bait just ends up with an unpleasant series of exchanges and probably gives the poster of such the response they want.

So why hasn`t said post been deleted? Or perhaps Mrs Brinks Matt should be deleted! She probably wouldn`t experience racism if she wasn`t so racist!

There are many people who are very very upset with the property issue.

Mrs Brinks Matt has seen and read in the papers that we have all have seen ie child labour etc. This upset people and sometimes they say or write things at the heat of moment that they do not mean or out of anger.

Mrs Brinks Matt has much to offer this forum and she should not be driven away.

Banyan.
