We do that with each new listing on the off-chance people living in that area have a friend or relative who wants to move close to them?

We call it a tell-200 marketing campaign............ don't you do that in UK?

Bushy is off for the weekend, exchange rate has been rubbish since last Feb,apart from 1 day.

I did a quick calc and reckon if she would have had to transfer about £450K to lose that amount - so it is possible

(personally i wish i had a quarter of that to transfer but hey ho )

i wouldnt - but i suppose if you are wanting to buy a house then you would probably need it all straight away ...

True, but you wouldn't transfer it until the sale was going through - not at the negotiation stage. So, I conclude that either she's winding Bob up or very stupid!

some people just transfer their money when they move without bothering about the exchange rate - but then if she was one of those people i dont suppose she would even know how much she had lost
i think she is using it as an excuse to try and keep the price down ...

... just be thankful she is buying in oz and not one of our houses!

If she transfered £450k though then that would be $900k at least (if rate was 2:1) wouldn't it?

On the contrary............. I think she's very clever....... but then, so am I?

Her aim is to try knock me down as much as she can............. my brief is to get the best end result for my vendor.......... and the figures being bandied around at present aren't satisfactory.............. I know I can do better.......... if I can't get my vendor more than what's on the table at present.......... I'll buy it myself for the price the vendor has indicated they'll accept.

Meanwhile.................. where's the bloody Panadol?
