Absolute nonsense.
Example: My parents were married for over 40 years and had eight children. When my mum died suddenly, my dad just wanted to go as well. He went through the motions of everyday life and lasted for 4 more years but willed the day when he would go as well.

You would need to explain your measure of success because its baffling me.

I disagree. We have a joint relationship neither being an unpaid or perm employee. We contribute equally yet in different ways. With equal repect. From this develops deep love rather than lust.

I disagree with this as I have gay friends who love their partners dearly and have been together longer than some married couples.

Ummmm I don't much go for religious teachings. It's usually geared to a certain way of thinking, along the lines of norm and sometimes people live slightly outside of this yet within the law. Religious teachings teach peace and harmony, only if you *fit* within their criteria

Whilst I respect your views. That's my view mate

You didn't come across as preaching mate, I just didn't want to unwittingly offend with my different viewpoint

If you ever decide to get married, take a look at your partners parent. They usually turn into them
I agree. Ive been tempted a few times to throw it all away and get married but I actually take marriage seriously and dont want to divorce. Marriage today seems to be more about divorce than the actual marriage. Im getting a nervous rash just thinking about it.
I had one of them once but I dont think it was through nerves.

I'm not really sure you know. I am not religious at all although I respect other people's religious beliefs so long as they are harmless. I think now days people don't always see it as religious but more of a commitment to the other person, almost like security in that you've chosen someone you think you could cook with and bonk for the rest of your life

For us it had nothing to do with religion mate
