Interestingly, in many asian and arab countries, people stay married with the same partner for life. Divorces are extremely uncommon even if people are unhappy in their marriages. It seems like a different mindset from the UK.

Love being married so does MrsB. I am so proud, so excited by her and her talents, interests, the things she says and does. We knew it within weeks. She also reckons we make cute kids.

It helps that we fancy each other, love each other and just get on with it, ourselves, and our lives. There seems a lot of people going through the motions. Plenty of people in defacto relationships the same who may as well tie the knot - it is special.

Married life is not all crap. Couldn't imagine life without her. Sex gets better and better - not boring at all.

B

I admire their staying power. I wouldn't stay in an unhappy marriage.

If a divorce happens the wife should be entitled to what she brought to the marriage and nothing more. It never works out that way because the divorce laws are antiquated and not reflective of modern day society.

And if you have kids? Well get divorced and go through the family law courts and find out. There are many fathers out there that don't get to see their kids and can't even afford to survive because of this reason alone.

While I've got your attention, I take it you were born out of wedlock, or from a broken home? I don't want to come across as insulting but you do seem anti women/marrige,
Wrong on both counts. I am not anti women but I am anti amrriage. Mainly because the marriage laws need to be brought into the 21st century. Right now, marriage laws are over 100 years old and come from a time when wives didn't work and the husband had to support them and when divorce happened it was still the ex-husbands duty to keep them in the life that they had become accustomed to.

You think I am provoking. I am actually being serious.

There are many different formats of marriage depending on culture. Divorce is still frowned upon in many cultures and polygamy is practised in many arab cultures.

It seems that the divorce mindset is common in the western nations, predominantly US, UK and Australia/NZ.
