Heck, a Jewish lad who's a mummies boy.

Make sure you choose the right woman mate

And make sure she makes excellent chicken soup

Agnostic! I still think marriage is a blessing but have yet to find my Sarah.

No such thing as common law wife in the UK either, it's myth that one and has no legal standing, but... if you have a child with your partner and the relationship breaks down you get royally screwed by the system married or not, it makes no difference.

I'm guessing, from previous posts that you're Jewish.... therefore being a mummy's boy is inevitable... I don't think that anyone will ever care for you as well as your mum did... it's not possible!!!

Marriage for me has been the one constant in my life.... Like Moneypenny, we didn't have a Wedding, we just went and got married, told people later.
When we married we had precisely NOTHING between the 2 of us, except for the scrap of poetry below!

22 years on we're still happy, I still fancy him and I know that it's recipricated.

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
Yeats I believe.... sums up what makes our marriage successful.

Soppy sod aren't !

Thank you but Mummy is Roman Catholic and my dad is the Jewish man that ran from his commitments. I have no religion but can see the merits in both.

So you are not Jewish at all then!

and there was me imagining Lokshen, Chicken soup with Matzo balls or even better Kreplach! and the chopped liver....
Heck, I miss Kosher food!
You can't even buy Matzo meal unless you go the synagog here in Adelaide!
