British Expats - Pet Peeves?

:lol:I did some United flights over the summer, and on some of them you could listen to the radio traffic on one of the audio channels. Was quite interesting, and gave a whole new level of respect/appreciation for the air traffic control bods....how they could understand what some of the pilots were saying was totally beyond me...I kept wanting to reach for the TiVo remote to "badoop" it to have another listen....one guy, I couldn't even understand his call sign when he repeated it to control:blink:

Now that's cool, I'd love to be able to tune into that on the seat audio.

I love watching the videos of planes coming and going at various airports where the include the audio from the tower as they arrive and depart. Quite interesting to hear how they handle clearances and that.

L ol..not that I heard, but I bet it happens......I wish I'd been listening when we got struck by lightning on final approach at Hong kong...
The thing that struck me was how laid back they all sounded....almost to the point where you wanted to give them an elbow in the ribs to.make sure they were still awake!!

People that peel out really quickly in front of you so you have to slam on the brakes...for them to then drive a couple miles sedately under the limit.

They should be punched in the throat.

And then they drive sedately through the lights as they turn red...and you have to stop.

I always know that if I am stuck behind someone going well under the speed limit that they will idle through the lights and I will get stuck at them. Happens nearly every time!
