People who think its a good idea to take dogs larger than a 3rd grader for a "walk" while riding their bikes.

Some silly tart round the corner from us nearly got a kid killed today, doing just that.

She was riding her bike, with a trailer on, while her boxer (biggest one I've ever seen) was trotting alongside her. All well and good, (sort of) till the dog tried to chase a duck, and the owner hadn't locked the extendable leash. The dog managed to get fully across to the other side of the road, almost garotting a kid riding behind them, who fell off their bike into the path of a passing car which managed to swerve around the kid, almost hitting the dog owner who at this point had fallen off her bike, and was screaming at the dog like it was somehow its' fault. The car owner was left shaking her head, the kid picked himself up and was straightening out his handle bars, and the dog owner turned to the rest of us, gave an embarrassed "oops" and rode off into the distance.....actually, this should have been in "pissed off today", rather than "peeve", cos it really did piss me off....

Dont get me started on the ducks......so many people feed them that they they aopear to have changed their migration patterns (ie, they don't!) and they so associate "humans" with "free lunch" that they actually chase us when I take the dog for a walk. The dog looks at me with this "please let me pounce on them" face, then hangs her head in shame, clearly hoping none of her canine friends are watching as we scurry off in the opposite direction. One of these days pooch, one of these days.....

It confounds me why Americans, notably in our part of the US, don't understand evolution and natural selection?

Pussies complaining about 'the cold'.

It's 50 degrees. What a bunch of wimpy, whiny arse-spatulas.

Split bread products - bagels, English muffins, pita etc....that fall apart when you try to split them so that you need a knife anyway.

Supermarkets 1. Stop asking me if I need help to my car with that! I am clearly a Scotsman in the prime of my life!

(Today when I brought up my 2 gallon of milk, bag of tatties, and six pack of wine she said where's your trolley?
I asked if it was compulsory to have one.
She said no but thought I'd have one.
Within minutes I had a line of women behind me offering the use of their trolleys!)

Supermarkets 2. You don't need to TRIPLE bag my ten yoghurts!

Supermarkets 3. Stop asking for MY money so that YOU can claim it as a charitable deduction. As I keep telling you I'm only there to shop!

(I actually said to the checkout womansperson today that if Mr Albertson wants to make a donation on my behalf, since he is very rich, then please feel free.)

When it gets to @ 65 - 70 my Mexican neighbors all bundle up in the Rocky style hooded sweatshirts.

Me, I'm like...aaahh spa weather..

I had never considered that this money would be donated as if from the company. But they would be fools not to. The bastards!

I just get pissed off with them asking every time, and if you decline at the card reader the checkout woman repeats the question trying to guilt you. Here in CA Safeway/Vons is the worst.

I am currently guilt free.

Speaking of things that split.

Cherry tomatoes in the garden.

They're not ripe and stay orange for ages and then bang, over night, they're over ripe and split. WTF.

I still use them though, I peel them underwater, makes it easy to get the seed.
Then cook the juice into a reduction to go with grilled duck breast.

Which you then batter and deep fry right? With you being Scottish and all...
