I once had one in Homebase with four swivel wheels that defied the laws of physics by moving at 90 degrees to the direction I pushed it in. Joke was on them though, since it crashed and spilt a whole can of paint on the floor.

Re: Pet Peeves?
Websites with "contact us" tabs if you have a question.
WTF is the point because they never, ever seem to respond...or if they do, it's usually after you've given up on life and moved onto something else. Oh and our car wiper blades. I've tried Napa, Autozone, Autoparts, RockAuto, the general dealership and the local garage. I've tried 8 pairs of wipers that their computers all say are meant to fit, except the dealer who says the part is no longer in their catalogue. The price has ranged from $10 a pair to $55 and not a single one is correct. geekparts.com have it, but it's $55 a piece. WT-hairymotherFshit. |

The missus is going to be in for a treat when she opens her birthday present  |
Re: Pet Peeves?
Why are they so hard to find? I thought Autozone would be ok.

It's one of those arms that doesn't have the hook and the slide on kinds from the above don't fit because the latch on top either can't lock because they hit the arm, there's a kink at the end of the arm stopping it from fitting or they don't have a notch that locks into the locking hole. The originals on the car have a part number that doesn't mean anything to anyone except the dealership but our local one isn't able to help. Major issue in just finding what the actual part number/name is and partly because it's a later year model, where GM thought it a good idea to streamline some parts but then in fact didn't, after adding it to the car. |

I used to drive an '84 Ford Sierra, and went to the local Ford dealer in Gloucester to get some replacement screws for the air filter housing. The parts dept didn't know which screws was talking about, and showed me the diagram of the air filter as relates to the top of the engine. It looked nothing like my car, so the parts assistant came outside to look under the bonnet. We went back inside and looked at more diagrams. Not only did my car not look like the diagram of the '84 Sierra, it didn't look like the '83 either, nor the '82. .... The best match that we were able to find on the diagram fiches was a '79 Capri! |
Re: Pet Peeves?
Yeah, that's pretty bad
Well the wipers on the car seem to be factory original and if that's the case, they've lasted 6 years, so if I can get that out of the new ones, per year cost won't be that bad. Most wipers I'm used to, even the good "all weather winter" types, never last more than a year, maybe 18 months before they start to get rubbish around here. |

Re: Pet Peeves?
Wish it was that easy...
Didn't I read about something recently on that note? Hold on.. Aye here it is. McLaren's ultrasonic force field to replace windshield wipers |
Re: Pet Peeves?
And geekparts.com wipers were the right ones and they fit properly...really should be in the car thread at this point
Box was battered to within a inch of its life when it arrived though which was a worry but they were fine inside. |
