I don't think anyone here would disagree that the US plug socket is one of the worst designs for electrical, ergonomical, and practical usage.

It's a bit better with the three-pronged plugs, but the two-pronged ones are useless at staying in. They fall out if you breathe within 30 yards of them :D

That being said, at least stepping on a US plug in the dark doesn't tear open your foot with the force of a million lego bricks, like stepping on an upturned UK plug does.

It's hard to strike a balance, here ...

Well bugger me. Trust the Germans to come up with a solution

Though, I think it would still hurt a bit if you trod on one.

Its nice not having to worry about having spare fuses around though.

The socket may be 'primitive', but US plugs win hands down over UK ones due to the massive volume of the UK plug! Carrying a laptop charger with a UK plug on it takes up half the bag ...!

Three forms of certified ID to apply for a flamin' mortgage?

Who are these money launderers and why aren't I in on the action?

Who has three forms of ID? Without my passport I'd struggle to find two most of the time, if utility bills aren't acceptable ...

Not sure.

I've been laundering money a lot of late. I found three quarters and a dime in the dryer this morning :D
