George W. Bush was smart enough to know you don't want to motivate and anger your opposition. Trump is a slow learner.

That was the only thing that George W Bush was smart about. One of the worst Presidents to sit in the WH since Warren Harding and Herbert Hoover. The opposition as you call it have never stopped attacking Trump since he was elected.

That's a very nice way off describing his mental capacity :hysterical:

What's not to attack? Trump is a simplistic thinker and his best ideas are never well thought out. Here's a good example. Donny looked at how the Obama Administration stimulated the economy with tax cuts and a stimulus package infusion. Which saved the country from the greatest recession in American history and we are still benefiting from that decision. But Obama's stimulus package was targeted. Trump decided hey...that's what I'll do but instead of putting money in the hands of the working classes who would grow the national economy., I will give trillions of dollars to extremely wealthy people who will sock it all away and not put it back into the economy. So here we are with an economy that is not expanding and unable to pay for the 1.5 trillion dollar yearly deficit Trump's poorly thought out idea has created. That is right! Our government announced yesterday that tax revenue coming in to pay our bills is so out of balanced that the books haven't been this badly managed in decades. Go on the Wall Street Journal and other conservative financial publications and read their analysis of our treasury. Either we are going to get rid of these crazy rich man tax breaks which were made permanent or we must cut all social services by at least 30%.

Would you be ok with cutting Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare in order to keep these huge tax breaks for corporations and the rich in place?

I wonder if he will hold the same legal opinion now , but as Trumpy & his surrogates have set him up for life ,on the gravy train that is, he will now fight tooth & nail to defend the lying bastard !

Schiff is not an agent of law enforcement and impeachment is not a criminal trial, despite what he and his supporters seem to think. Having a congressman (again, not a cop) subpoena and publicly release the private phone records of political rivals is both unprecedented and very likely illegal. It's a violation of Federal law for phone companies to hand over records on private citizens (like congressmen) except to law enforcement bearing warrants. That's not the case here. Also, note that Schiff sent the subpoena (in secret, of course) to AT&T a full month before Congress authorized the impeachment inquiry so Schiff's claim that this was part of the inquiry is patently false. Subpoenaing and then releasing Giuliani's records is particularly egregious as it raises questions of attorney-client privilege. After all, Giuliani is Trump's personal lawyer.

For those here cheering Schiff's actions, think for a minute if the shoe was on the other foot... which it one day will be. Also, consider how this all looks to people who disagree with you politically. Allowing powerful congressmen to use unfettered political power to subpoena and release private information on political rivals is an extraordinarily bad idea. It's extremely likely that Nunes and Giuliani are going to sue Schiff personally, and they'll probably win.

Nunes likes to sue people anyway. I think he has something like half a billion due to him if he wins all his outstanding defamation lawsuits.

Too bad he doesn't understand anti-SLAPP laws though.

I'm pretty sure these subpoenas went through legal scrutiny from both sides.

Former Vice President Joe Biden told "Axios on HBO" in Iowa that he has shaped the 2020 race, faulting the media and his rivals for thinking Democratic voters are more liberal than the reality.

"You guys got it all wrong about what happened," Biden said in an interview airing Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET on HBO.
  • "It's just bad judgment. You all thought that what happened was the party moved extremely to the left after Hillary. AOC was a new party, She's a bright, wonderful person. But where's the party? Come on, man."
Biden disagreed strongly with rivals who think the Democratic Party is hungry for Medicare for All, a top priority for Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders:
  • "The party's not there. The party's not there at all."
Be smart: Medicare for All is officially the central battlefield for go-big-or-go-home Democrats like Warren and Sanders vs. go-biggish-but-not-so-big-you-scare-moderates Democrats like Biden.
  • Biden believes Warren and Sanders misread Democratic voters.

Instead of just doing another cut and paste, how about providing your opinion on it as well?

If you also sit down whenever one of Donald's glassy-eyed followers claims that he is bright then you must have spent the last three years sitting down.

Are you sitting down?
AOC is smart and intelligent. That's one of the reasons the right are so obsessed with her, they only like simple minded people they can identify with.
