However as I know nothing about sport I wait to be corrected
The athletics start today, they have a few hopefuls there. But no, I don't think there is anything like as much interest as there is in the UK.

GB were only one point behind against Spain in the baloncesto last night - that would have been a shock! The Spanish are dead keen on basketball.

You're a genius! I've learnt something today, F1 is not an Olympic sport. I listed the sports that they are currently good at, then added they had few athletes that were capable of winning medals at the Olympics. I don't think athletes do F1. I sort of knew about their football failure as well, having posted recently that they are still blaming the Venezuelan referee. And Nadal was injured, so hasn't taken part.

Have we won something else? Haven't looked at it today yet.
Edit.
Just looked at the news, another rowing medal! I think the triathletes might well get us a few, ladies go tomorrow, men on Tues, I'm banking on the Brownlee Brothers, they have been unbeatable so far this year.

Two bronze and a gold so far, not a bad morning at the office.

El Rey is in training for the hop, skip...... (yes, I know it's the triple jump nowadays). I know I shouldn't laugh, but I did! It was linked to by a Spanish friend, he enjoyed it as well.

Still 4th Matt, although we have more medals than Korea. We need one more gold to overtake them, give it until teatime.

Not bad for a country with a population of only 63m.

I don't count China mate, they don't actually count but I agree, could not be better at the moment. Did you hear the crowds in the PACKED stadium? Unbelievable!

Loved the scene of Steve Redgrave helping Campbell to the medal ceremony, THAT is what the Olympics is about, not all the negative crap people are focusing on!

It was looking good for GB earlier but I've been lusting, sorry watching the wonderful Jessica Ennis-Rugbymatt but on it now. Amazing to watch.

This was doing the rounds almost before he'd had chance to pick himself up.

I used to have more sympathy for him, until he went off shooting elephants and cheating on his wife.

We have spoken to friends who have been to various events including one friend who is a ref at the shooting about the empty seats issue, they have all said its hogwash, the seats available to people are packed out, not a seat to see but the corporate seats, sometimes the best in the house, are almost empty. They never amount to many but the media are focusing on them and taking as many pictures as they can of them.

It's because they are the best seats, and are often near the finish line etc that they are more noticable on TV.

Can this controversial incident be anyway classed as cheating or using the format to gain an advantage???
