First ever gold in women's rowing, and the a gold and bronze in the men's time trial cycling, anyone want to bet against Bradley Wiggins winning BBC sports personality this year?.

Especially the men's version. A boring niggledy game in my book.
Not surprisingly it never really took off in the UK.
A decent day medalwise for the UK, lets hope there's more to come.
Nice to see Boris join in the action.

Currently watching Spain and the USA playing water polo. Draw 9-9
First time I've seen anything of Spain at all during the NBC coverage, and I suspect that's only because they were playing against the USA.
Good game though.

Another silver medal just won for GB by Michael Jamieson in the 200m breaststroke. A much better day all round!
I too think Bradley Wiggins must be odds on favourite for the Sports Personality of the Year award, he's now the most successful British Olympian ever. Such a nice, unaffected guy too. And he's already talking in terms of the 2016 Games.

I don't find it too hard to get worked up over Pau Gasol though, 7' 1" of pure sinuous muscle!

Never heard that one before, only the one about fur coats
but I'm sure that wouldn't apply tp P.L.
To get back on topic I find the lady athletes quite attractive to watch in action these days in their skimpy bikini like outfits.
Now when the lady footballers start doing likewise as recommended by sep blatter,I can see them beginning to fill up the stadiums.
Shame more ppl. dont watch them now because many of them are very talented.

Team GB footballers confound their critics by beating Uruguay and also winning their group to reach the quarter finals.

Nothing wrong with admiring a well-built sportsman, surely? Film stars and other celebs who preen and polish themselves for the camera leave me cold, I like a bit of sweat and muscle.

it would be a shame to go back to the beginning of the 1900's when showing an ankle would be deemed unacceptable.
especially as the original Olympians were naked I believe

remember Duncan Goodhew who lost all his hair due to an accident, the ultimate in streamlining so many still try to emulate.
