Just watching the news on UK tv, and load of pubs and restaurants in Greenwich are fuming because of the barriers that are in place to control the crowd.
The crowds are being herded about, and cannot seem to escape the "routes" to be able to explore the surrounding area, including the street markets.
They are going to dismantle some of the barriers tomorrow, to give the local business a fighting chance, because takings are about 60 to 70 percent down on a normal year.
Lots have ordered in extra supplies as they were expecting to do good business.

Have been shots on TV of London being quiet. may not cancel my weekly trip after all
Everyone I know who commutes is working from home. getting e-mails too for 50% of some top London hotels.

Usual tourist attractions down by 30 percent on normal.
Street traders recording a drastic cut in takings, one interviewed on TV said it was the quietest she had seen it in 20 years.
On the plus side,no major traffic problems with the new Olympic traffic lane hardly needed at all.

Let's celebrate our first gold medal. Listened to the race on my car radio, the atmosphere sounded amazing.

Yes despite all the doomers and gloomers the enthusiasm is amazing
Can't see us getting many medals but as the saying goes
matters not wether you win or lose it's how you play the game

Tell that to the Koreans and the Chinese!
Agree, looks like our predicted medal haul could be wildly optimistic. I'm banking on the Brownlee Brothers and Helen Jenkins to do good in the triathlons. And Wiggy this afternoon? Who knows?
