They are not all making a fortune out of their win I doubt the likes of the Clay Pigeon shooter will for instance. For me team GB have done great some of them rowers put so much into it they couldn't get out of their boat unaided. Credit where credits due they have been fantastic. If they end up better of well so what they deserve it in my eyes more than footballers.

Hell no, I'd never do that Matt, I wouldn't want to find myself on report.

What about the ladies pursuit champions ?
Broke the world record in six successive outings.
Must be another record in itself, surely.

It's nice to believe they all did it for Queen and country in their moment of glory I suppose, but never mind fantastic performances by any standards anyway.
All for Queen and country - no, probably not. But there is a good deal of national and personal pride involved there for many of them, that is pretty evident. Plenty of weeping at the national anthem, and after watching Steve Redgrave help a British rower who couldn't stand by himself, and who seemed incoherent with exhaustion and pain after his event,to his feet because they were playing the national anthem for, I think, the men's fours, and hearing that same rower try to sing along to the anthem - then it's pretty obvious that it's not just about being on the cereal box or having a clothing brand. Very few of them will ever get that anway.

I'm still hoarse after the three gold medals from last night. At one stage I even thought of getting my medals out to pin them on my chest, but then realised I was sitting around in my underpants in this incredible heat.

And we've still got our boxers to come, with three ladies.

Alan Campbell, just one of the two rowers he helped is Northern Irish as well and he just erupted when the anthem was played. When asked last week about why the Olympics mattered Redgrave explained that while the likes of Murray and Nadal might view winning Wimbledon is the pinnacle of their career for the athletes competing at the Olympics, this was it, the culmination of 4, 8 and even 12 years hard work and dedication.

Pete Wilson lost his funding last Olympics and he has done it all off his own back, it was reported that one of the Makhtooms is now his sponsored but having told a friend this the other night she quickly corrected me, she knows him well and its simply not true, the Prince supports him with coaching and tutoring but thats all.

Just reading the Spanish press, mentioned Mo's success, and some of the posts after make a big deal about him being black, born in Somalia etc. I think the dearth of medals is getting to them, besides they don't do multiculturalism very well do they?

What a fantastic night, a fantastic day in fact. I was rubbing my eyes in disbelief when I turned on the TV and saw that a British guy was in gold medal position in the long jump, I never even heard Greg Rutherford mentioned as a medal prospect in the build-up to the Olympics. I wonder if we will see any more huge surprises like that, I do hope so. Although Jess Ennis and Mo Farah were expected to do well, they still had to deliver under enormous pressure and they certainly did it in style. I never thought I would see a British winner of the 10,000m after the emergence of the African nations to dominate distance and middle distance running.

Looking at the medal table and the nations below us, I can't see any of them overtaking GB now with the events still to come, it will be incredible if we finish third behind the USA and China.

I missed it all as I was waiting in a hospital from 1pm as my father in law was taken ill!
Puts things into perspective though when you see the dedication of the staff.

Andys brought home the bacon.
First tennis gold in more than 100 years.
He seems quite chuffed, for once.

Andy Murray beat Roger Federer to win gold!!! In straight sets!!!

I think that shows real strength of character, to come back on to the same court and play like that, against the same opponent, after the disappointment of losing the Wimbledon final only a few weeks ago. It should really help his confidence and self-belief for the future.

I can't imagine what it must be like to have to go on and play the mixed doubles final straight afterwards, but good luck to him and Laura Robson. I wonder why they didn't schedule the womens' doubles final to come in between?
