But for the UK media to go on about how its unsafe to travel because of it is a disgrace
I've seen a load of England fans mimic WWII bombers in front of German fans. Equally "racist" and offensive, but there have been no 1 hour specials about it. In fact the media encourage this behaviour

The UK needs to learn a bit of tolerance itself
All we hear from the UK media is that x and y countries are racists. They've picked on Spain a number of times
He with a racist mind sees racism everywhere.
The BBC have an agenda to show the Central and Eastern European countries as "backward" so they are running with it. Ironically it is an entirely racist agenda, similar to the racist PIIGS headlines seen throughout the UK newspapers
It is for the countries and individuals themselves to sort out their issues. If there is an actually incident then let the appropriate people deal with it

In some respects Spain has a way to go before entering the 21st century as a modern civilised EU country.
It was not an isolated incident. It's happened at international matches.
It's also happened numerous times at all Spanish La Liga games.
Sad to see Spains preference to sweep most of it under the carpet and try giving it a false interpretation.

And btw the Hamilton thing wasnt racist in the slightest. People "black up" at carnival time all the time in Spain (it was carnival time). They are not belittling black people by doing so, in fact quite the opposite. It is only in the UK and US where doing so is deemed as racist.
Again, a case of judging people based on your own racist principles.

This is all about people from the UK who have been brainwashed by the fluffy bunnies for the last couple of decades deciding whether the standards of other countries are the same as those imposed in the UK.
How Spain, Poland, Ukraine et al respond to coloured (can I use that in this forum?) players is their business not ours. There used to be a time when the most popular group of singers were the Black and White Minstrels and it was seen as a badge of honour to have Robinson's Gollies on your lapel.
Before telling other people how to behave perhaps people should have another think about the religious arguements between Celtic and Rangers.
And just remember that when those Asian guys on the bus are making comments about English girls in short skirts that that is also unacceptable - but you wouldnt know it because they know you don't speak their language.

I also note that you choose to totally ignore racial incidents at all Spanish La Liga matches including monkey chants and displays of Nazism which have occured in recent years.

The whole thing should be called off, the players should walk off. Won't happen though cos it's all about money!

DD, the occurance is "disgusting" in your "racist" eyes that obviously sees people with dark skin as inferior to people with white skin. If you didnt think that, then why would people blacking up be seen as racist?
You could also say that people putting on a blonde or ginger wig pretending to be Lady Gaga or Boris Becker was racist
In Spain, the main problem is people dont empathise with black people thinking about what it would be like to be of a different skin colour in their country. And thats because racism is almost never mentioned in the Spanish media - and when it is, it is usually to defend themselves against the evangelical British

I see little hope with blinkered attitudes like C'mans.
I have often wondered why in all the thousands of hours I have spent watching Spanish news programmes and reports, I have yet to see a newsreader/reporter of obviously non-Spanish origin.

There probably is a problem with racism in Poland and Ukraine. Like in Spain, it is probabaly more a Q that people arent aware of what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour concerning skin colour

Racism in European football has been all over the news for a couple of days now, here in Spain too. The football itself is hardly mentioned.
What I find weird is that the Ukraine and Poland are 'white' countries, yet a lot of their fans are racists. Maybe that's why; we have less racism in the UK and the US because we live next door to black people and know that they are no different to us whites.
I don't want to upset football supporters of which I am one, so I won't mention the theory that racism is directly linked to low intellect.

The reason why there are not more on TV is because 30 years ago there were almost no foreigners in Spain. It takes a while for the generation to grow up and become integrated into society, but you are starting to see it now. There is a Chinese girl on Intermedio and a half English girl who presents on C5
You are being close minded and stupid assuming that Spain's history of migration (and racism) is the same as the UK's

There have been great advances made in the policing and anti-racist policies in UK football. But it still happens, it's by no means perfect yet. Football fans will chant "I'd rather be a P*** than a Turk" when the opposition is a Turkish team. And Anton Ferdinand has been shocked this season at the abuse he has received, in reference to the John Terry accusation. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17796589

I have family who went to high school there, they said kids were completely segregated by race and would never talk to each other.
