Re: Groceries

Sadly not mine. :(

Re: Groceries

They do in Quebec too...although from memory, buying it was quite the rigmarole. They not only checked my ID (I was 48 at the time!) but took it away to some office before returning to give me the go...

Re: WestJet Halifax to Manchester...

I think both WestJet and Air Canada reported record profits last year but I'm guessing that money isn't saved for a rainy day... Someone I know who worked for WestJet until taking early retirement...

Re: WestJet Halifax to Manchester...

When are you supposed to be flying?

Surely there is a contractual issue here. You paid for a service (a flight to Manchester) which is no longer being offered. Maybe they'll re-instate that route...

Re: Which DVD player and where from for UK DVDs

Be aware though that blu-rays are another kettle of fish altogether. Regions on blu-ray players are much harder to hack and sometimes require some electronic wizardry. (Source - have a blu-ray player...

Re: WestJet Halifax to Manchester...

Thanks for that!

The bummer there is that it says to wait until your trip is a week or less in the future. If they go bust or even re-instate the flights but a 14 day quarantine period is in place...

Anybody book a flight with WestJet to Manchester this summer?

I booked a trip for my son, his mum and me, Toronto - Halifax - Manchester then the COVID19 malarkey kicked off. Of course, insurance...

Re: What do you miss from where you came from?

One thing I miss that nobody has mentioned on here is a looped walk following footpaths through the countryside. Here it almost always seems to be walk to a place...then walk back along the same...

Re: Flying to the UK....via USA. Help?

So flying from YYZ to ATL is considered Domestic and not International? The two terminals are quite separate from what I can gather which is potentially problematic given the short layover time.

Re: Flying to the UK....via USA. Help?

Thanks for the replies.

OK - so it looks like my baggage does go straight through...so the nice man at Delta told me when I finally got to talk to someone.

He didn't know about me though. Do I...

Not been on here in a while. Notice that not a lot has changed!

Anyway - I'm hoping that someone can help me out here as I'm confused...as per.

I'm flying to Manchester on Sunday but due...

Anybody work in insurance?

Had something a bit odd crop up today.

I was getting insurance sorted for my new wheels and towards the end of the hour and twenty minutes I spent on the phone, the woman on the other end pointed...

Re: Wasaga Beach & Surrounding Areas

I live in Adjala-Tosorontio about 45 minutes south of "The Beach"...so I guess I'm fairly close!

Don't go as much as I used to, but sometimes take the dog up to the beach to get his paws wet. I...

Re: Beer in Ontario supermarkets!!!!!!!

Indeed. Creemore has been owned by Molson for quite some time now. So they have a rather large marketing budget to draw on. Still one of my favourite local beers though - I just drink it grudgingly...

Re: Moving to Canada, without a job lined up.. Success stories... Or not...

I came over with my partner, my baby son and no job in June 2006. My Canadian partner had already lined something up and I assumed the 'stay at home dad' role...which was fine until the bills started...

Re: Petro Canada Gas odd promotion

Back in the day, I worked in Bradford ON.

One day the Shell near where I worked was selling gas at 75c/litre at 8am. As I went to lunch at 12pm it had mysteriously dropped to 69c/litre.

Lo and...
