Default Which DVD player and where from for UK DVDs

As the title suggest, im after a cheap run of the mill DVD player to watch both UK and N American DVDS on.

Due to shopping restrictions can anybody recommend a make and model that I can order ?

Very much appreciated.

I got a Lonpoo DVD player multi region on Amazon Canada for precisely this purpose. About $60. There are also loads of 'hacks' for DVD players to make them multi region.

This one ere https://www.amazon.ca/LONPOO-support-Full-function-Controler-LP-099/dp/B078W27V1W

Walmart or Canadian Tire (< under $20) sell multi region DVD players. Or somewhere like this - https://www.220-electronics.com/regi...SAAEgJkAvD_BwE
or Bestbuy

Does anyone make DVD players that aren't multi-region? OK joking, but not by much. The tech is so old now that they are basically commodity items. Probably be more expensive to make one that wasn't multi. I would think that googling "best multi-region DVD player 2020" would get you a pretty decent list.

Actually, ALL DVD players have ALL regions and multi region installed on them. It is then a software switch that is set in the factory that sets them to tte region they are set to be marketed in. Hence it is very easy to use one of the widely available hacks to either change the region or set it to multi region. The wiki article on electrical goods has a link to a popular hack site IIRC. But yes, they are now cheap as chips anyway!

Another option is to use a PC and MakeMKV to rip the DVDs to MKV files that can be played back on a computer, or on a modern TV from a USB stick. If you have a computer you bought in the UK, you won't even have to change the region of the computer's DVD drive (some drives require this).

Be aware though that blu-rays are another kettle of fish altogether. Regions on blu-ray players are much harder to hack and sometimes require some electronic wizardry. (Source - have a blu-ray player that requires some electronic wizardry to allow playing of non-region A/region-free blu-rays).
