The other thing that strikes me as strange is how children AND adults walk down the street with no shoes! It`s not like they`re clean or have no stones - these people must have soles like leather....

I had the same exp when we went back last Xmas. We had crazy nights out, were staying with my sister whose house was a tad small (we are a family of 5). The weather was really bad (Yorkshire!!).

We went with friends from the uk to stay in the Sheraton on the Sunday night, unaware of the festival. The hotel had over a thousand festival goers staying there! It was bedlum! We had 5 young kids...

I guess what you mean by shopping. I was generally meaning clothes shopping. I think the UK is a ALOT better than here. Mind you i have saved a ton of money as i don't really bother with fashion...
